Logan's Well Baby Check Up

We went to Logan's 4 month well baby check up today and it went well. I was a bit nervous b/c he is breastfed and I was worried about him not gaining enough weight but the Dr said that he is right on track and doing perfect. Here are today's stats:

Height 24 1/4 inches long
Weight 13lb, 10oz

YAY! He is in the 25th percentile for both but that's okay... all of my kids are small :) I'm just happy that we don't have to supplement with formula or anything!

The End of An Era

So this has been a very rollercoasterish week.

Mike closed the cafe on March 31st. It just wasn't cutting it financially and so we had to let it go. :( We were a little sad and a little nervous but hopefully as one door closes another door will open. He starts Monday at Goldstein Chrsyler Jeep Dodge so hopefully he still has his inner salesman and will do good there. Just trying to look up.
The kids are sick AGAIN. I really can't wait for summer time and hopefully we won't get the dreaded summer cold. Nathan woke up this morning with a fever of 103.9. I gave him motrin this morning and the fever went down... I'm hoping that it doesn't creep back up this afternoon or I will definitely call the Dr and see what they think I should do for him. He's eating and drinking normally and acting fine for the most part- the only weird thing was that he ASKED to take a nap today. That doesn't happen very often! I guess that is a plus side to him not feeling well. :(

Mike's Uncle John passed away on Monday, March 30th after losing his short battle with pancreatic cancer. We think of Uncle John often along with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and the other family members and friends that he left behind. He was a great man and he was very loving and caring and very very compassionate and he will be forever missed in the Davey clan. :(

And lastly on a brighter note Mr. Logan Alexander is 4 months old today! Even though he's my third baby I STILL can't believe how quickly time flies. It feels like just yesterday I found out I was pregnant (okay it was REALLY a year ago yesterday LOL) but I still can't believe my last lil baby is 4 months old today! HAPPY 4 MONTHS ROLO! :)

Here are some pics from this week.

Not much to report on the homefront...

The reason that I haven't posted isn't because I haven't been wanting to...it's just that we don't really have much going on here that is exciting...

We've had some excellent weather the past few days and yesterday we were actually able to get outside! My mom took the twins overnight Friday night and I had a bridal shower to go to yesterday for Mike's cousin so Mike took Logan to run errands. When I got home I took Logan for a walk and then when we got back I started to set up the yard so that we can finally come and play outside during the week! :) Mike even came outside and put together the swingset. It's functional at the moment but still needs a little work to have it at 100%. I'm also going to get some stain and stain it to make it look prettier b/c we got it from our neighbor and it's a bit old :)

Friday Mar and I took the kids to the Commons. It was a lot of work but I think the kids enjoyed it. Mar has officially decided that she really doesn't like kids- LOL. (Except for mine!)

That's it for today. Once I upload my pics onto the computer I will add pics of the park and outside. But for now enjoy Spring!

I know what I saw...

YAY! I'm actually committing to what I said about keeping up with the posting :)

Anyway- Wednesday I had some very interesting experieneces at our house. They both involved my Grandmother (she passed away 11.1.08) and you can think I'm crazy (just like Mike) but I know what I saw!

Wednesday morning I gave the twins a bath. I took Morgan out of the tub first and I had her on the changing table and I was getting her dressed. She looked passed me and said while waving, "Hi Mamma". (This is how she says Grandma, she calls me Mom or occasionally Momma or Mommy but she will say Grandma as Mamma but faster than she says Momma... you really can tell the difference when she's speaking). Anyway, I replied saying, "Hi Morgan" and she yelled back, "NO! Hi Mamma!" and continued to wave. She then went on to have a conversation in "chinese" for a few minutes. I just kept looking into the hallway where she seemed to be talking. Then she says "Bye bye" while waving. I got her down from the changing table and she walked all the way to the front door while waving and saying goodbye. There was the thought in my head that maybe she really did see my Grandma. It could happen...little kids see things all the time- they have an open mind right? I tell my husband of this story and he thinks I'm crazy. Then something happened to me later that night- I'm telling you I'm not crazy and I know what I saw.

Everyone who knew my Grandmother well knows she HATES frogs. I mean hates them. My Grandfather gave her crystal frogs once as a present b/c she collected Swavorski Cyrstal and she threw them at him b/c she hates frogs. So naturally I used to LOVE to antagonize my Grandma with frogs. I even remember when I was little my cousin Alexandra and I used to love sneaking behind my Grandma and putting little frogs that we found in the pool on her shoulder just to watch her run and scream through the yard (it sounds cruel but it was really funny).

Anyway; the other night I was coming home from Mar's house and I was thinking about what happened with Morgan earlier in the day. I get out of my van and I'm walking up the steps to the front door and out from under the steps a frog jumped out and hit me in the foot. I don't think I've ever jumped that high! I just laughed and said out loud, "I bet you thought that was REAL funny didn't you?"

Call me crazy or insane but I KNOW that was my Grandma. I miss her so much every day but that frog gave me a little bit of peace knowing that she is alright and in a better place now. And besides; where would a frog come from in the Northeast in the middle of March?!

Finally another post!

So I'm glad I jumped on the bandwagon and started a blog... too bad I didn't keep up with it. LOL. But I'm ready to start blogging on a regular basis. I think it will be good and beneficial for me. After all- what a better way to relieve stress and have a special place to remember all those memorable moments :)

So let's have a little update since my last blog entry; shall we?

On November 1st, 2008 I lost my Grandmother very suddenly. This was DEVASTATING to me and I'm still having a hard time coping with her death. She babysat the twins right up until 2 days before she passed away and I really still can't believe she's gone. I can't believe that she has done so much for my children and they probably won't remember her. It hurts my heart to even think that. :( I love my Grandma SO much and I will NEVER forget everything she did for me. I hope that she is in a better place and looking down on me and is nothing but proud of me and my children. I'm so sorry that she never got to "meet" my baby Logan... but I can't help but think that he has a part of her in him. Rest in peace Grandma; I love and miss you more than words can say and there isn't an hour that goes by that I don't think of you. You will live on forever in my heart and in my words.
On December 4th, 2008 at 10:01am we welcomed Logan Alexander Davey. He weighed in at 7lbs, 2 oz and was 20.5 inches long. He was and continues to be an complete different experience than the twins. The twins were born 6 weeks early and spent 24 days (Morgan) and 34 days (Nathan) in the NICU. Logan was born at 39 weeks and he got to come right into the recovery room with us and he got to room in with me and that was awesome. Even now I find that I get to enjoy his infancy more than I did with the twins b/c with them it was change, feed start over on the other baby and so on. I've learned through the twins though that they grow so quickly and before you know it they aren't teeny tiny babies anymore so I'm not "wishing" his infancy away.

Mike is closing the cafe at the end of next week and will probably be venturing back into the car business. I'm a little nervous with the way this economy is but it will be better than not having a job at all so I'm going to try and be optimistic that this will work out for our family. We really don't have a choice.
The twins are getting HUGE and growing up so quickly. It's amazing to me to watch them develop and grow and I really do feel like I'm living my life again through them. It's amazing to me to see how amazing things are to them. They get into everything and while it can be frustrating quite often I wouldn't change things for the world. Nathan is m laid back, complacent boy with "class clown syndrome" and Morgan is my strong willed independent girl.

Well- these are my updates. Hopefully I won't have to do anymore of these "update" posts and can just do regular posts... :)
